The Why.

Setting the Boundaries.

Respectfully*, I don't need to explain the why but I have to, honestly. I want you to have some idea as to what you will encounter on this site: what you can expect and how I'd like you to understand it. (*Disclaimer: what you read may challenge you at times and that's good! Who doesn't like a good challenge?) Playfully and thoughtfully, with each post I've laid tiny, little "Easter eggs" (as defined in the dictionary) hidden as treats for you to find, if you seek them out. Hey, that might make things a little lighter if it gets too dark! (Key word: hidden* Meaning? hidden like this --> * ) "Pulling a da Vinci," as I always say with a knowing grin. It's fun to learn the code. Are you ready?

Why write? I write, because I can. And more importantly, it's time. I need to. We all have a voice, we all have stories to tell--the real power lies in our ability to use both effectively to get what you want said told. I'm currently writing my memoir (it's a good one!) and I'd like for you to read the first 2 chapters as a little taste. Click on the link at the end of this post, read it and let me know what you think! I bet it will surprise you.

An inside look--> Life for me as "little Heidi" was one of mostly silence and contemplation. Although I was somehow given the nickname "motormouth" by my Grandmother, I was a wallflower, of sorts; lots of watching, listening, and lots of learning. I learned a LOT. (And yes, that is a real descriptor of measurement.) I've since grown up to "big H", weeded through and rose above a challenging childhood. This has blessed me with the gift of gab--when I want to, of course. And...I want to! So, here I go. I've listened to and am taking the shared advice from one of my favorite scientists: "Start a blog!" (Thank you, Neil deGrasse Tyson, I am.) Simple.

What this site will hold:

toi (pronounced toy) is a collection of my thoughts, opinions, and ideas on subjects I find fascinating. toi = a toy, like a toy you can play with and discern whether or not you want to 'play again'. Look at it, ponder it, manipulate it (that's not a bad thing) and, share. (Always, remember to share. With everyone.) hmcb.online

Backstory: I actually took the idea from Albert Einstein. He penned a book, entitled Ideas and Opinions, dated back to 1954 and I liked it. Random yet thoughtful excerpts of his thinking on a multitude of subjects that are very relevant to today; it covers all areas of life. Brilliance. A diary, of sorts! Personal, yet publishable for all to read. Because he shared with all must mean he wants us all to listen. Listen and learn. Genius. He shared.

---------------------------------------------------

ENJOY! And, welcome to my brain, child! And, more importantly, welcome to my mind. I'm so glad you're here! Now, look around and, go play! With? toi.
